While some old favorites are back for another hilarious adventure, we’re introduced to new characters who guarantee more than a few laughs.
Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides promises you a good time. Enjoy the captain’s one liners and quick wit as he tries to keep as far away from the gallows and thrusting swords. Part 4 of this popular franchise stars many new faces that each brings something new and exciting to light up the screen.
The Characters: Jack Sparrow Captain Jack Sparrow played by Johnny Depp couldn’t be funnier even if he tried. From his mismatched outfit, braided hair, red bandana, and gold teeth, he wins and warms your heart every time you see him. He and Barbossa, his nemesis turned ally, are in search of the fountain of youth except, they aren’t the only ones. Watch how he tries to charm or scream his way out of one situation after another. Angelica Angelica, played by Penélope Cruz, is the most beautiful pirate on board the Queen Anne’s Revenge and daughter of Blackbeard. This curvy temptress is as dangerous as the sirens lurking beneath the murky waters. The banter between her and the captain is hilarious, and obviously partially ad libbed. Does she learn to genuinely care for him or does she just want to use him to locate the fountain of youth? Barbossa Hector Barbossa played by Geoffrey Rush has said goodbye to his days of plundering and marauding and has joined the Royal navy swearing allegiance to the crown. But can a blackguard really reform? Watch him and Jack Sparrow create mayhem by trying to outwit each other at every turn. Blackbeard The pirates that all pirates fear. Jack Sparrow couldn’t be more right about anything. The heartless and soulless pirate is played by Ian McShane. He is as desperate to get to the fountain of youth as the others but for totally different reasons.
Syrena Played by Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, she is a bad mermaid turned good. She is captured by Blackbeard and an unknown fate awaits her. If only someone would rescue her.
Philip Swift This young missionary had The Good Book on his mind but thanks to a fellow prisoner on Blackbeard’s ship he is starting to get distracted.
Scrum This scallywag is played by Stephen Graham. He might not be too  Penelope Cruz and Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean 4 handy with the sword but provides sweet sounding mandolin music to his fellow pirates. |
